Nick Salisbury went 1-2 as the Pineville Pioneers (12-15) took home a 6-4 victory over the Carolina Vipers (10-21) in seven innings at East Mecklenburg HS on Tuesday.
He singled in the fourth inning.The Carolina Vipers had no answer for Austin Lawerence, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Lawerence held the Carolina Vipers hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Patric King racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Carolina Vipers. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Dallas Connor recorded his second win of the year for the Pineville Pioneers. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Kendall Hughes (2-3) took the loss for the Carolina Vipers. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
