Derek Hirsch came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Hirsch reached on a error in the four to lead the Pineville Pioneers (9-13) to a 7-5 win over the Carolina Vipers (10-16) on Friday at Jack Hughes Park.

JD Huggins went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Carolina Vipers. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Justin Pace recorded his second win of the year for the Pineville Pioneers. He allowed four runs over six innings. Pace struck out five, walked three and gave up five hits.

Patrick Haynes was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out one.
