A bright spot for the Carolina Vipers in the defeat was Jorge Montes, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.
Luke Watts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
