Taylor Fisher went 2-3, sparking the Ballantyne Smokies (11-6) to a 6-1 victory in seven innings over the Carolina Vipers (6-11) on Saturday at East Mecklenburg HS.

Brandon Donahue struck out 12, paving the way for a the Ballantyne Smokies win. Donahue allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Patrick Haynes (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
