The Lake Norman Copperheads (9-6) and the Statesville Owls (9-8) both had scoring chances on Saturday, but it was the Lake Norman Copperheads that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-2 win at Statesville Owls Home Field.

Josh Crump was solid at the plate for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Crump went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Loren DeShields recorded his third win of the year for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Lucas Clarke couldn't get it done on the hill for the Statesville Owls, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
