Cody Ponce held the Wareham Gatemen (7-17) scoreless for six innings to boost the Brewster Whitecaps (9-15) to a 2-0 victory.

Ponce struck out two and allowed two walks and four hits.

Zach Gibbons got on base three times in the game for the Brewster Whitecaps. He singled in the third inning.

A bright spot for the Wareham Gatemen in the defeat was Drew Harrington, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Harrington couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Wareham Gatemen, taking a loss.
