The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (10-12) and the Brewster Whitecaps (8-14) both had scoring chances on Sunday, but it was the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 3-2 win at Stony Brook.

The Brewster Whitecaps had no answer for Phil Bickford, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just one hit off of the the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Brewster Whitecaps' Gio Brusa. Brusa went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Justin Jacome improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He allowed two runs over five innings. Jacome struck out six, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Garrett Mundell (1-2) took the loss for the Brewster Whitecaps. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
