The Bourne Braves (13-7) used a four-run explosion in the ninth inning to get past the Wareham Gatemen (6-14) 14-6 on Thursday at Spillane Field.
Mark Laird racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Bourne Braves. He singled in the eighth inning and tripled in the ninth inning.
Brett Morales had an impressive outing against the Wareham Gatemen's lineup. The Wareham Gatemen managed just two hits off of Morales, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.
The Wareham Gatemen were led by Chris Chinea's hitting. Chinea went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Jason Richman (0-1) took the loss for the Wareham Gatemen. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
