Story by Narrative Science.

The Chatham Anglers (7-6) shut the door early on the Bourne Braves (10-4), capturing a 13-3 victory on Wednesday at Doran Park.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Chatham Anglers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by Chris Shaw in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Kal Simmons and a two-run single by Shaw during the second inning fueled the Chatham Anglers' offense early.

The Bourne Braves were led by a flawless day at the dish by Mark Laird, who went 4-4 against the Chatham Anglers' pitching. He doubled in the first innings and singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.

Jordan Hillyer recorded his second win of the year for the Chatham Anglers. He allowed one run over five innings. Hillyer struck out three, walked one and gave up five hits.
