Gio Brusa went 2-4, helping the Brewster Whitecaps (5-4) to a 4-1 victory over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (3-6) on Friday at Stony Brook.
He singled in the second inning and tripled in the fourth inning.The Brewster Whitecaps relied on Ryan McCormick to eat up innings en route to the win. McCormick pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out three.
Michael Murray (0-2) took the loss for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
