Johnny Sewald had two extra base hits, helping the Orleans Firebirds (2-4) to a 6-2 victory over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (2-4) on Tuesday at Red Wilson Field.

The Orleans Firebirds had no answer for Doug Willey, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Orleans Firebirds managed just three hits off of the the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Trent Thornton improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Orleans Firebirds. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Bryan Bonnell (0-2) took the loss for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Orleans Firebirds' RJ Ybarra, Edwin Rios, Sewald and Taylor Ward combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
