The Normal CornBelters (46-41)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 7-5 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (51-36) on Tuesday at The Corn Crib.

Richard Lucas racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the first inning.

Charley Short pitched lights out for the Normal CornBelters. Short held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Jason Wilson (7-6) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked four and struck out three.
