A magnificent effort by Mike Schwartz led the Normal CornBelters (29-31) to a 12-10 win over the River City Rascals (38-23) on Sunday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

Schwartz blasted two home runs for the Normal CornBelters. Schwartz went 2-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Schwartz homered in the third and eighth innings.

The two teams combined for 22 runs and 22 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 12 pitchers used in the game.

Evan Crawford racked up five RBIs on three hits for the River City Rascals. He tripled in the third inning, singled in the fifth innings, and homered in the seventh innings.

Charley Short improved to 6-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Short struck out two, walked one and gave up no hits.

Nick Kennedy (3-2) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
