The Alameda Merchants get key pinch-hit in 9-7 victory over the Neptune Beach Pearl

Dominic Morbidelli was cold coming off the bench, but Morbidelli warmed up quickly as Morbidelli stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Alameda Merchants (23-20) to a 9-7 win over the Neptune Beach Pearl on Tuesday at College of Alameda.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Morbidelli came to the plate and singled.

Morbidelli got on base three times in the game for the Alameda Merchants.

The Alameda Merchants were led by JR Davis's hitting. Davis went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings and tripled in the sixth inning.

Andrew Herrera had an impressive outing against the Neptune Beach Pearl's lineup. Herrera held the Neptune Beach Pearl hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

March racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Neptune Beach Pearl. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Daniel Skinner recorded his first win of the year for the Alameda Merchants. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Alex Trautner was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
