Sunday was a great day for Nick Dermenjian, as Dermenjian tossed a shutout to carry the Sacramento Heat (13-16) to a 2-0 victory over the Alameda Merchants (14-16) at Folsom Lake College in seven innings.

Dermenjian held the Alameda Merchants scoreless during his seven innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.

Michael Pope (0-1) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
