The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (10-15) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 8-3 to the Swift Current Indians (14-12) on Monday.
A two-run home run by Eric Sams gave the Swift Current Indians the lead in the fifth inning.
Eros Modena was solid at the plate for the Swift Current Indians. Modena went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, fifth, and sixth innings.
Bryan Heward racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He homered in the third inning.
Marc-Andre Habeck got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Habeck struck out three, walked three and gave up eight hits.
Steven Latos (1-2) took the loss for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
