Demetre Taylor had two extra base hits as the Quincy Gems (35-20) took home a 4-3 victory over the Springfield Sliders (13-41) at Robin Roberts Field on Wednesday.
He singled in the first and seventh innings and doubled in the third and ninth innings.Vince Braman improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Jose Marin (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
