The Danville Dans outdone by McGinnis and the Quincy Gems, 4-3

The Quincy Gems (9-5) beat the Danville Dans (7-8) 4-3 on Saturday at Quincy Stadium behind Adam McGinnis, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Vince Braman had an impressive outing against the Danville Dans' lineup. Braman held the Danville Dans hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Paddy OBrien got on base three times in the game for the Danville Dans. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Kyle Royalty brought the heat against the Quincy Gems during his outing. The Quincy Gems managed just one hit off of the the Danville Dans' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Tyler Troutt improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed three runs over six innings. Troutt struck out four, walked two and gave up seven hits.

AJ Childerson (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

The Quincy Gems were sparked by McGinnis and Dominic Miles, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
