Early lead not enough for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, drop 4-3 decision to the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (31-16) built an early edge on Sunday, but the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (17-29) roared back to steal a 4-3 victory at Vineyard Baseball Park.

While the Marthas Vineyard Sharks led until the eighth inning, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs worked their way back and took the lead on an error.

Nate Pajka racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He homered in the first inning.

Michael Yerina improved to 3-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He allowed three runs over eight innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered eight hits.

Alex Pernick ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
