The Walnut Creek Crawdads refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Auburn Wildcats (10-10), recording a 15-2 victory on Friday at James Field.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Walnut Creek Crawdads to put the game away early.

A groundout by Michael Mann and a groundout by Mitch McGeein in the first inning and an RBI single by Danforth, an RBI single by Danforth, and an RBI single by Sawyer Gieseke during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Walnut Creek Crawdads.

Danforth racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Walnut Creek Crawdads.

The Auburn Wildcats couldn't get anything going so long as Deering was on the hill. The Auburn Wildcats managed just two hits off of Deering, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his five innings of work.

A bright spot for the Auburn Wildcats in the defeat was Mike Pople, who allowed only one run while striking out five.
