Klein's single gives the Gary SouthShore RailCats walk-off win over the Lincoln Saltdogs, 9-8

A walk-off single from Adam Klein brought home the winning run for the Gary SouthShore RailCats (4-3) in a 9-8 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs (4-3) in 11 innings at U.S. Steel Yard on Thursday.

Klein led the Gary SouthShore RailCats' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the seventh and eleventh innings.

Dennis Raben blasted two home runs for the Lincoln Saltdogs. Raben went 2-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Raben homered in the first and eighth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 19 hits during the game. There were 13 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Ian Durham got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Durham struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Eddie McKiernan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.

The Gary SouthShore RailCats were sparked by Klein and Mike Massaro, who teamed up for six hits and six RBIs.
