The Terre Haute Rex (20-22) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Quincy Gems (27-13) on Saturday.
While the Terre Haute Rex led until the tenth inning, the Quincy Gems worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI double by Ryan Light.
Light put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the second and tenth innings.
Aaron Michel handled the Terre Haute Rex's lineup with ease, racking up 10 strikeouts. Michel allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks over six innings.
Austin Tribby improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. Tribby struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.
John Patterson (2-4) took the loss for the Terre Haute Rex. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
