The Danville Dans jump on the Quincy Gems early and coast to 11-2 win

Story by Narrative Science.

The Danville Dans (8-5) jumped out to an early lead on the Quincy Gems (9-5) and captured an 11-2 victory on Friday at Danville Stadium.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Danville Dans to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Chet Simoneaux during the first inning and an error, an error, a single by Tyler Selesky, an RBI single by Jacob Thomas, a single by Josh Miller, a wild pitch, and a fielder's choice in the second inning fueled the Danville Dans' offense early.

Miller racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Danville Dans.

The Quincy Gems couldn't get anything going so long as Troy Conyers was on the hill. The Quincy Gems managed just one hit off of Conyers, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out eight during his five innings of work.

Evan James ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
