The Falmouth Commodores (19-14) pounded the Brewster Whitecaps (12-20) on Monday 14-3 at Stony Brook in eight innings.

The Falmouth Commodores scored five runs in the eighth on a double by Dylan Davis, a single by Kevin Cron, an RBI single by Troy Stein, a two-run double by Sam Gillikin, a single by Richard Martin Jr., and an RBI single by Kevin Newman.

Newman racked up six RBIs on five hits for the Falmouth Commodores.

Brandon Leibrandt was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Falmouth Commodores batters and allowing three runs.

Kevin McCanna recorded his second win of the year for the Falmouth Commodores. He allowed three runs over six innings. McCanna struck out four, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Frankie Vanderka (0-3) took the loss for the Brewster Whitecaps. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
