Evan Beal kept the Falmouth Commodores (14-9) off the board during his six innings of work and the Cotuit Kettleers (15-10) beat the Falmouth Commodores, 5-1.
Beal struck out five and allowed one walk and three hits.
Dylan Davis did his best to prevent defeat.
Davis was hot from the plate for the Falmouth Commodores. Davis went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the sixth and ninth innings.
The Cotuit Kettleers couldn't get anything going so long as Davis was on the hill. Davis held the Cotuit Kettleers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
The Cotuit Kettleers scored four runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
It was a good day at the plate for the Cotuit Kettleers' Mike Ford. Ford went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.
Daniel Koger (0-1) took the loss for the Falmouth Commodores. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
