The Chatham Anglers (12-6) shut the door early on the Wareham Gatemen (3-16), capturing an 8-2 victory on Friday at Veterans Field.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Chatham Anglers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by J.D. Davis and a sacrifice fly by Davis in the first inning helped the Chatham Anglers put some runs on the board early.

Dante Flores got on base three times in the game for the Chatham Anglers. He singled in the first and third innings.

Will Coursen-Carr couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Wareham Gatemen, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
