Justin Erasmus was cold coming off the bench, but Erasmus warmed up quickly as Erasmus stroked a key pinch-hit single in the nine to lead the Joliet Slammers (29-39) to a 5-4 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (30-38) on Sunday at Silver Cross Field.

With the score tied at four, Erasmus came to the plate and singled.

A walk-off single by Nick Akins gave the Joliet Slammers the win.

Akins reached base three times in the game for the Joliet Slammers. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the ninth inning.

Marquis Riley racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Erasmus improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Reese McGraw (0-2) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
