Chase Burch hit two home runs to carry the Traverse City Beach Bums (28-18) to a 6-4 win over the Joliet Slammers (19-27) at Wuerfel Park.

Nick Capito had an impressive outing against the Joliet Slammers' lineup. Capito held the Joliet Slammers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Nick Akins racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the seventh inning.

The Traverse City Beach Bums had no answer for Chase Doremus, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Doremus held the Traverse City Beach Bums hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Jake Sabol improved to 6-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed four runs over six innings. Sabol struck out four, walked two and gave up six hits.

Brett Zawacki ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out six.
