An ace performance by Eric Wooten hoisted the Frontier Greys (8-10) to a 12-2 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums (10-9) on Friday at Wuerfel Park.

Wooten got the win for the Frontier Greys thanks to nine strikeouts. Wooten allowed one earned run, two hits and two walks over eight innings.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Frontier Greys in the third. In the inning the Frontier Greys scored seven runs.

Mark Micowski racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Frontier Greys. He tripled in the third inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.

Chris Squires was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Frontier Greys batters and allowing one run.

Jacob Clem was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
