Andrew Davis went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Lake Erie Crushers (3-3) took home a 3-1 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (3-3) at Rent One Park on Thursday.
He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.Dale Dickerson looked sharp on the mound. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just one hit off of Dickerson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
The Lake Erie Crushers couldn't get anything going as long as Drew Bailey was on the mound. Bailey held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Matt Rein recorded his first win of the year for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered three hits.
Brian Oliver (1-1) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
