The Medford Rogues cough up lead, the Bellingham Bells win 11-8

A loss looked likely for the Bellingham Bells (1-0) when they trailed by one run in the ninth inning, but the Bellingham Bells were able to capture the lead back with a a three-run double by Ryan Malone in the tenth inning, spurring the Bellingham Bells to an 11-8 win over the Medford Rogues (1-1) at Harry and David Field on Wednesday.

With the score tied at eight in the tenth inning, Malone came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Michael Annunziata, Eric Angerer and Aaron Sandefur.

Malone racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bellingham Bells. He singled in the eighth innings and doubled in the tenth inning.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 19 runs and 18 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using seven pitchers in total.

Annunziata was solid at the plate for the Bellingham Bells. Annunziata went 3-6, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the first, third, and eighth innings.

Michael Rucker recorded his first win of the year for the Bellingham Bells. He allowed three runs over 2 2/3 innings. Rucker struck out five, walked two and gave up one hit.

Dillon Keene (0-1) took the loss for the Medford Rogues. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
