The Anchorage Bucs (5-0) beat the Chugiak Chinooks (1-8) 2-1 in seven innings on Friday at Mulcahy Field behind David Andriese, who went 2-2.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.The Chugiak Chinooks couldn't get anything going as long as Andrew Sopko was on the mound. The Chugiak Chinooks managed just three hits off of Sopko, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Devin Stanton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
