The Victoria HarbourCats (1-0) outlasted the Kelowna Falcons (0-1) on Wednesday after six lead changes, squeaking out a 8-6 win at Royal Athletic Park.

David Schuknecht racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Victoria HarbourCats. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Even though Nick Pivetta allowed six runs over eight innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Austin Rice was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
