A 16-run explosion in the fourth inning led the longo lighting (18-8) to a 17-5 win in five innings over the SHORTBUS TYJA SOFTBALL at Bellport Field # one on Wednesday.

Craig Tumberella put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the longo lighting. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the second and fifth innings.

Brian Flaherty had two extra-base hits for the SHORTBUS TYJA SOFTBALL (17-9). He doubled in the second and fourth innings.

Even though Anthony Avelli allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. Avelli struck out none, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Jared Schmidt (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 17 runs in five innings, walked one and struck out none.

The longo lighting pounded the SHORTBUS TYJA SOFTBALL pitching, as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
