Jason Rubenstein kept the Regina Red Sox (8-1) off the board during his five innings of work and the Medicine Hat Mavericks (7-4) beat the Regina Red Sox, 7-3.

Rubenstein struck out five and allowed no walks and one hit.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

Dillon Usiak was solid at the plate for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Usiak went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Daniel Jones was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
