Both the Medicine Hat Mavericks (4-1) and the Lethbridge Bulls (3-3) put runners aboard on Monday, but it was the Medicine Hat Mavericks that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-2 win at Athletic Park.

Ben Smith racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He homered in the second inning.

Billy Martin racked up seven strikeouts in the the Medicine Hat Mavericks win. Martin allowed one earned run, 10 hits and one walk over eight innings.

Travis Steinke got a hit in each of his four at bats. He singled in the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Brody McDonald couldn't get it done on the bump for the Lethbridge Bulls, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
