Tuesday was a great day for Jeff Stoddard, as Stoddard threw seven scoreless innings to carry the Mystic Schooners (9-31) to an 8-1 victory over the North Adams SteepleCats (21-19) at Fitch High School.
The Mystic Schooners blew out the North Adams SteepleCats thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. An RBI single by Andrew Santomauro and a three-run home run by Eric Yavarone helped the Mystic Schooners score four runs in the fifth. The Mystic Schooners had three hits in the inning.
Yavarone racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Mystic Schooners.
Dan Kolodin (1-2) took the loss for the North Adams SteepleCats. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
