The Hamilton Cardinals (6-29) beat the Burlington Twins (11-24) 2-1 in five innings on Monday at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium behind Justin Malabanan, who went 2-3.

Benson Merritt had an impressive outing against the Burlington Twins' lineup. The Burlington Twins managed just three hits off of Merritt, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Burlington Twins' Kyle Bolton dominated the Hamilton Cardinals' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

It was a good day at the plate for the Burlington Twins' Connor Panas. Panas went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Bolton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year.
