Christian Parra was cold coming off the bench, but Parra warmed up quickly as Parra stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Fresno Cardinals (24-10) to a 5-1 win over the Auburn Wildcats (24-12) on Sunday.

With the Fresno Cardinals trailing by one in the third inning, Parra came to the plate and singled.

Tanner Irwin had a hot bat for the Fresno Cardinals. Irwin went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Clay Gartner allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out five over eight innings of work.

Michael Proiette (5-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
