The Big Blue (18-6) trailed by eight in the fifth, but the Big Blue recovered thanks to a key double in the fifth inning from Kevin Korte to pull out an 18-12 win in seven innings over the Thunder (burro (12-12) at Raynor Park two on Sunday.
With the score tied at 12, Korte came to the plate and doubled, scoring Steve Luerssen and Patrick Colantuoni.
Korte racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Big Blue. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth innings.
The two teams combined for 30 runs and 43 hits, including zero extra base hits.
The offense exploded for the the Big Blue in the fifth. The Thunder (burro had no answer as the Big Blue scored 11 runs.
Luerssen boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Big Blue. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.
Christian Colantuoni recorded his fourteenth win for the Big Blue even though he allowed 12 runs over seven innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered 21 hits.
Joe Burro was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed 18 runs in six innings, walked seven and struck out none.
The Big Blue hammered the Thunder (burro pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 18 hits, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
