The Pittsfield Suns (14-18) took home a 7-1 victory over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (13-14) on Monday at Wahconah Park, fueled by three runs in the eighth inning.

Ryan Deitrich racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Pittsfield Suns. He singled in the third inning.

Matt Timoney picked up the win for the Pittsfield Suns. Timoney pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and four walks while striking out one.

Ryan Brockett was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Pittsfield Suns batters and allowing three runs.

Brockett (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
