The Polar Beers (11-11) beat the Rusty Nutz (1-20) 10-6 in seven innings on Monday at East Islip Marina behind Mike Ocasio, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He singled in the third inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.Frank Mcdermott had three extra-base hits for the Rusty Nutz. He doubled in the first and third innings, singled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.
Greg Messina got his fifth win for the Polar Beers despite allowing six runs over seven innings. Messina struck out four, walked four and gave up 11 hits.
Julie Rizzo couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rusty Nutz, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out none.
