After five lead changes in Sunday's game at St. Joseph's, the Marine Clean (18-5) finally pulled out a 8-7 win over the the commission (12-10).
The Marine Clean came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the the commission early.
Matt Gallagher led the Marine Clean's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Curtis Mellow racked up three RBIs on two hits for the the commission. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.
Rob DeRosa recorded his first win for the Marine Clean even though he allowed seven runs over eight innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered 16 hits.
Danny Walsh (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out none.
