The bats were busy at Bellport Field #2 on Friday, and when the dust cleared the Filthy Bastards (14-8) had a 22-10 win over the Sleestacks (15-9) in five innings.
The teams totaled 41 hits in the game.
The Filthy Bastards blew out the Sleestacks thanks to 24 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Filthy Bastards scored six runs in the third on an RBI single by Brian Whitehead, a sacrifice fly by Neil Hassett, an RBI single by Johnny Reagan, and a three-run triple by Carmine Caccavale.
Mike Distefamo racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Filthy Bastards. He homered in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the first and fourth innings.
Tony Centorani went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Sleestacks. He singled in the third and fifth innings.
Bobby Belonzi got his sixth win for the Filthy Bastards despite allowing 10 runs over five innings. Belonzi struck out one, walked one and gave up 17 hits.
Dave Tellerman couldn't get it done on the hill for the Sleestacks, taking a loss. He allowed 22 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
The Filthy Bastards hammered the Sleestacks pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 23 hits, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
