Carter spent the 2014 season with the Gulf Coast League Tigers and pitched well in a limited amount of opportunities. He made four appearances, all of them out of the bullpen, tallying a 1-0 record with one save and a 2.25 ERA in eight innings pitched. Most impressively, he averaged one strike out per inning.
