Previous Experience
Bret begins his second season in professional baseball following a stand out career at Division I Loyola Marymount University. Over a four-year career he set a new school record for career saves with 28. Starting his sophomore year he was used as the school’s primary closer with a career best 11 that year. He recorded seven saves as a junior and another 10 his senior season. For his career, he made 82 relief appearances posting a 3.19 ERA and yielding just 85 hits in 98.2 innings pitched.

Bret started his career at Loyola Marymount as a two-way player and made 42 appearances in the field as a freshman. He batted .246, two homers and 15 RBI that first year. Dahlson also had 11 at bats as a sophomore before being used exclusively as a pitcher.

Following his graduation in 2014, he signed as a free agent with the Tamp Bay Rays. The 23 year old split the remainder of 2014 between the Rays’ rookie-level Gulf Coast Rays and Appalachian League Princeton (WV) Rays. In 14 combined relief appearances, he posted a 3-1 record, 2.49 ERA and two saves. Bret struck out 17 over 25.1 innings pitched.

Personal
The native of Yorba Linda, CA is the son of Jan and Ted Dahlson. He has two brothers, Shane and Drew. He graduated from Loyola Marymount with a degree in communications.
