Lavigne was a freshman on a SNHU team that captured its third consecutive Division 2 East Regional crown, hitting a whopping .473 with three doubles, three homers, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored in 22 games prior to the College World Series. He drove in runs in three of his first five college games and had a run of five straight into April before homering twice and reaching base in eight of his 10 plate appearances during the Penmen’s regional sweep of Pace.

The catcher from Bedford, N.H., graduated from Bishop Guertin High School and played 17 games for the Futures League champion Nashua Silver Knights last summer. His brother, Grant, is a catcher in the Colorado Rockies organization and currently plays for the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats.
