The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (36-29) outlasted the McAllen Thunder (25-41) at Edinburg Stadium 6-4 on Thursday after 12 innings.

With the score tied at four in the twelfth inning, Leugim Barroso came to the plate and singled, bringing home Ruddy Yan.

The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings scored three runs in the first inning to build an early lead. A three-run home run by Romulo Ruiz delivered the runs in the first. The Rio Grande Valley Whitewings had three hits in the inning.

Barroso pushed the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings ahead, in the twelfth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out.

Ruiz racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings.

Eddie Dennis Jr. got the win, running his season record to 2-2. Dennis Jr. struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.

Kurt Houck (2-3) took the loss for the McAllen Thunder. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
