The bats were busy at Mayo Field on Monday, and when the dust cleared the Willmar Stingers (23-17) had a 21-11 win over the Rochester Honkers (17-23).
The two teams combined for 34 hits in the game.
Nine runs in the opening three innings allowed the Willmar Stingers to easily put away the Rochester Honkers. An RBI single by Michael Suchy and a two-run triple by Kenny Roberts in the first inning and an error, a fielder's choice, an error, , , and a solo home run by Roberts during the second inning fueled the Willmar Stingers' offense early.
Roberts racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Willmar Stingers.
Chad Wallach racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rochester Honkers. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.
Even though Kyle Fischer allowed seven runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered eight hits.
Jared Miller (2-1) took the loss for the Rochester Honkers. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked four and struck out three.
The Willmar Stingers easily handled the Rochester Honkers pitching as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
