Holdren gives the Lincoln Saltdogs late push to beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 2-1

Stephen Holdren drove in the go-ahead run to give the Lincoln Saltdogs (23-34) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Lincoln Saltdogs hung on to beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes (33-23) 2-1 on Tuesday.

After David Espinosa, Holdren came to the plate with the score tied at one in the sixth inning, and singled, plating Espinosa.

Holdren was hot from the plate for the Lincoln Saltdogs. Holdren went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Asif Shah was solid at the plate for the Lincoln Saltdogs. Shah went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

The Lincoln Saltdogs relied on Justin R. Edwards to eat up innings en route to the win. R. Edwards allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out three over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Matthew Rusch (5-2) took the loss for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
